Meet The Team

Our staff members are at the heart of Dana Tours and everything that we do for our travellers – and Edna Suleimangy, who’s been with the company for over 20 years, is certainly a crucial part of our team.

About Edna

Edna RSA

Born in Maputo, Edna comes from a large family, with relatives scattered between Mozambique, Eswatini and South Africa. She studied in Swaziland before moving back to Maputo in 1999 and joining Dana Tours in 2002 as a receptionist. Over the years, she continued to hone her skills and is now our trusted Supervisor. In her spare time, she enjoys Bollywood movies and spending quality time with her daughter. Edna loves what she does and is passionate about introducing clients to the best places and experiences within her home country. She enjoys building relationships with people from different parts of the world and making travellers’ dreams come true, providing them with unique opportunities to revel in the magic of Mozambique.

So, what does Edna rate as Mozambique’s must-sees and must-dos? Her favourite places include Bilene, Vilanculos and Ilha de Moçambique. Her favourite local dish is Doce de Mandioca (a syrupy dessert made with cassava and coconut) and she believes that visitors can most look forward to exploring Mozambique’s unique culture and, of course, the country’s breath-taking beaches.

Edna’s thoughts on why Mozambique is such a special destination? Its residents’ warmth and friendliness! And, finally, her top tip for first-timers? Saving themselves time and stress by making use of Dana Tours’ convenient transfers if they are unsure of how to go about planning a self-drive holiday.

There are plenty of different types of holiday experiences on offer for travellers, including the chance to explore the hustle and bustle of the city in conjunction with an escape to the beach or the bush.

“Mozambique is home to some of the most picture-perfect beaches in Africa. These beaches have got everything one could ever imagine about such a paradise: powder-soft golden sands, warm, welcoming azure waters, towering palm trees and, of course, year-round sunshine,” says Edna.

“We’re also extremely lucky to have incredible wildlife, enabling us to offer our visitors the chance to enjoy a traditional African safari, following a few days spent relaxing on the beach. Our national parks are packed with animals, birds, reptiles and much more. It’s always endlessly satisfying to witness our clients’ joy when seeing these creatures up close for the first time,” she adds.

Edna believes that, following the pandemic, more people from around the globe will be eager to travel and will be on the lookout for new destinations – and she’s certain that Mozambique will be at the top of their bucket lists!
