When to go, by activity

Hiking? Be sure to look at coming in the dry/cool season between April and September. Rainfall is at its lowest during May, June and July for Mozambique.
Diving? Water temperatures in the Inhambane area during the summer months averages 27-28 oC and rarely drops to 22-23 oC (71-73 oF). Water temperatures during winter averages 22 oC (71 oF).
Birding? Migrants come to Mozambique during the hot and rainy summer, but birding is good year round. Many migrants can be seen early December, before the main rains and into March and April, when the rains have decreased.
Fishing? The length and varied shoreline of Mozambique’s 2500 km coast make this country unquestionably Africa’s top fishing destination from October through March.
